The Indian supporters swiftly reminded the Barmy Army of their standing in the World Cup points table in reaction to the English supporter's organisation posting a meme to celebrate Kohli's demise.
On Kohli's dismissal, former England skipper Michael Vaughan tweeted something very cheeky. "Does getting @imVkohli out for a duck automatically get @david_willey a England central contract .. !!! #CWC23," Vaughan wrote.
After Kohli was out, Shreyas Iyer gave him away cheaply as well, falling victim to the short ball once more. On 4 of 16 pitches, the right-handed hitter was out of the game.
With only one victory in their last six games, England is at bottom of the points standings. They are about to be eliminated from the competition.
