The BCCI announced that fans will have a "last chance" to get tickets for the World Cup 2023 semifinals and finals. The sale would begin on Thursday, November 9, at 8 p.m. IST on the official website of the ICC (which will lead users to Book My Show). These tickets are the last batch available for the semifinals and championship game. "As the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 reaches its business end, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will release a final batch of tickets on Thursday," the BCCI stated in a release.
"On November 9 at 8:00 PM, the tickets will be available on cricketworld.com, the official ticketing website. For cricket fans who wish to feel the joy and excitement of the World Cup and see firsthand the crowning of a new champion, this will be their final opportunity," the announcement continued.
The first semifinal match takes place on November 15 at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, and the second semifinal match takes place on November 16 at Kolkata's Eden Gardens. The grand final is slated to happen on November 19 at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium.
With the confirmation of Australia, South Africa, and India as semifinalist, ticket demand is predicted to soar. The BCCI and ICC have received a lot of flak for their poor handling of the ticket sales. This will be the last test for them and the site Book My Show.
In one of the two semi-finals, Australia will take against South Africa, ranked second. This is verified regardless of the outcome of the most recent group-stage match between Australia and South Africa. It is anticipated that New Zealand, Pakistan, and Afghanistan would engage in a three-way match in the other semi-final including India.
The results of the last three games between Afghanistan, Pakistan, and New Zealand will determine India's semi-final opponents, leaving out England, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Netherlands. Unless India is playing Pakistan, its semi-final will take place in Mumbai. India will go to Kolkata for their semi-final if Pakistan advances as the fourth-ranked team.
