Tendulkar reacted to Rohit record breaking World Cup match against Afghanistan...

Indian captain Rohit Sharma sealed India's second consecutive victory at the One Day International (ODI) World Cup 2023 on Wednesday by capping off a record-fest performance in New Delhi. In game nine of the ODI World Cup at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, the veteran Indian opener produced a magnificent innings as his century secured India's eight-wicket victory against Afghanistan. The captain Rohit broke Sachin Tendulkar's World Cup record with his 31st century.

The 31st century for Rohit was his sixth ODI World Cup century. Tendulkar had previously held the record for the most World Cup hundreds, but Rohit beat him. Before Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah tortured the Afghan bowlers, he claimed four wickets to keep Hashmatullah Shahidi and company from scoring a par score. In the ODI World Cup, Bumrah achieved his career-best figures (4 for 39).

The legendary batsman Tendulkar praised Bumrah and Rohit on X (formerly known as Twitter) for their outstanding performances at the ODI World Cup. Bumrah and Rohit had two excellent performances and received excellent assistance from the bowling and batting groups, respectively. Different players made contributions to the two games, which neatly sets up the 14th of October. Look forward," Tendulkar said. The 1992 tournament winners Pakistan will square off against two-time champions India in the next game.

In 44 innings in the ICC competition, Tendulkar, who won the World Cup championship in 2011, racked up six hundreds. In his 19th innings, Indian captain Rohit managed to surpass Tendulkar's previous record by hitting his seventh century. With 556 sixes, Rohit also surpassed Chris Gayle as the man with the most in international cricket. In ODI cricket, Rohit has also scored the third-most hundreds. On the elite list, the veteran hitter is only behind Tendulkar (49) and Virat Kohli (47).

The ODI World Cup captain Rohit became the batsman to reach 1,000 runs in the second-fastest time. At the World Cup, David Warner and Rohit each scored 1,000 runs in 19 innings. The fastest century by an Indian at the ODI World Cup came from Rohit in just 63 balls. Indian captain Rohit advised his squad to concentrate on managing the controllables before India's pivotal World Cup match against Pakistan. "It's important for us to focus only on the things we can manage and to stop worrying about things outside of our control. Simply showing up and doing good will do," Rohit added.
